Karis Zidore is educated as a dancer and choreographer from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2015. She is a part of Danseatelier – an artist collective in Copenhagen consisting of 11 choreographers, performers and friends, who are all interested in collective sharing of knowledge and expanded practice within dance, choreography and performance.
‘Karis typically works within the cross field of dance and performance, and typically in settings outside of the stage, such as galleries or site specific locations. She has shown her work a.o. places at Det Frie Felt Festival at the Royal Theater, Alt_Cph 2018, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Den Frie Udstilling, Ufer Studios in Berlin, and Judson Church in New York.
Karis has been teaching physical practices and choreographic strategies a.o. places at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in collaboration with Københavns Internationale Teater, and at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.
Besides her work as a performer and choreographer, Karis also produces and performs electronic music with her artistic alias ‘Gel’, where she investigates deconstructed dance music.’
