Singing is inseparably linked with music. Therefore, the two lines will have cooperating days. As a singer, you often have to work with musicians, so we try to prepare you for this with the cooperation between the two lines.
Students of the Vocal Line, autumn 2014 concluded at their end evaluation:
At the vocal line you will be given tools enabling you to learn more about your voice – how you can use it to express yourself. And through technical exercises, you will develop your voice.
Your voice is a part of your body. Through physical exercises, we focus on grounding and presence.
You have skilled and passionate teachers helping you on your journey.
The above subject adds to your rhythmical skills and coordination.
Playing your way through imitation, pulse, time, dancing, and playing on drums are part of this subject. And it’s a lot of fun.
We highly recommend that you buy additional solo singing lessons, because it will be a great advantage for your overall vocal skills.
You will be taught anatomy and different song techniques to create a better foundation for your voice. You also learn about making live sound and thus how to electrify your voice using a speaker system and a microphone.
You are educated in groups of 5-10 singers. And you will also be taught solo singing as a masterclass with the other singers watching and learning even more.
At the end of the semester, you tour with other lines, e.g. the Music Line and Sound Engineer Line of the school.
If there are international students following the course, the teacher will teach in English or translate as much as needed.
We recommend foreign students to follow our Danish course along with the classes.
To be a singer and musician, you have to be familiar with music theory and ear training.
Besides singing and vocal training, you will thus also work with getting better at these subjects.
You will be divided into groups based on your level of theory and ear training skills.
We, sometimes, have visitors: bands, guest teachers, students from the music conservatory and professional artists.
Some of our visitors are: Jonatha Brooke, Annemarie Zimakoff, Mathias Grip, Rasmus Nøhr, Laila Skovmand and Symfobia.
